Larry Earl Doty, 75, Topeka, passed away February 22, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 21,1941, in Rossville, Kansas the fifth child of Earl Edward and Margaret Hazel Doty.
Larry graduated from Highland Park High School where he met his soul mate Iona “Jean” Millard, and they married in 1960. High school sweethearts, Larry and Jean were inseparable and shared 56 years of life’s wonders together. Larry was self-employed with a family business he ran with his wife.
Larry was a man who enjoyed the he simple beauty in every day life. Feeding and watching birds, gardening with Jean, and conversation were just a few of his life’s pleasures. Larry knew no stranger, and if there were music he’d be the first to dance. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and attending his grandchildrens’ sports and music events, but above all he lived to share each day with his wife Jean.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, his siblings Bev Enyart, James Doty, Peggy Doty, Bob Doty, and Betty Jo Slater. He is survived by his wife Iona “Jean” his siblings, Earlene Constantino, Gary Doty, Donnie Doty, Rodney Doty, and Monte Kay Prentiss; his children Becky (Don) Hill, Carrie (Ron) Ward, Rusty (Annelise) Doty, Randy Doty, and Lori (Dan) Miller; his grandchildren Jeremy (Amy) Conway, Amanda (Chris) Fisher, Courtney (Chris) Doud, Jordan (Sierra) Doty, Taryn (Ben) Gervais, Austin (Sidney Franzke) Doty, Tanner (Sam Garcia) Doty, Andrew (Morgan Simmons) Miller, and Sam Miller; three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
