Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bixby of Rossville will be honored with a dinner Sunday, February 14, at Silver Lake Cafe on their 64th wedding anniversary, given by their children. They will hold open house hours from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Silver Lake Cafe. Friends and relatives are invited to call. Mr. and Mrs. Bixby were married in St. Marys. They have lived in Rossville all their lives except for three years at Silver Lake. They are the parents of ten children, five boys and five girls. |

SILVER LAKE — Mrs. Rose Bell
Jones, 75, Silver Lake, died Sunday, April 28, 1991, in a Topeka hospital.
Mrs. Jones had owned and operated restaurants in Silver Lake and Rossville.
She was born Jan. 24, 1916, in Rossville, the daughter of Charles and Hattie Denton Bixby. She spent most of her life in the Rossville and Silver Lake communities.
Mrs. Jones was a member of Silver Lake Senior Citizens.
She was married to Donald Jones Nov. 8, 1961, in Topeka. He died March 30, 1985.
Survivors include a son, Michael A. Jones, Rossville; four sisters, Virginia O'Donnell, Kansas City, Mo., Grace Bixby and Mabel Patton, both of Topeka, and Edna Taylor, Silver Lake; three brothers, Vernon Bixby, Topeka, Robert Bixby, Silver Lake, and Don Bixby, Rossville; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Jones will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home where relatives and friends will meet from 7 until 8 p.m. today.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Basic Cancer Research, Kansas State University, Manhattan, 66506.
