DEATHS AND FUNERALS
ETTA MEDORA BOND
Mrs. Morris Band passed away about 7 o'clock Sunday morning, June 27, at her home. Her passing was sudden and unexpected despite an illness off and on the past fif¬teen years, and in the last few months bedfast from a broken hip.
Through all these years she had
the best medical attention that money could provide, a devoted and patient attention from her husband that has been noteworthy for its constancy.
Mrs. Bond, whose only sister pre-ceded her in death only ten days previous, was the elder daughter of the late Peter and Medora Ackley Shearer. She had been a resident here since 1876. Her birth was Port Huron, Michigan, where she was born May 23, 1870.
She was married to Morris Bond, January 13, 1892. She united with the Presbyterian church of Rossville in 1896.
Surviving her are her husband, Morris Bond, three nieces, Ethelyn Ferguson, Edna Pearl and Irene Bond, one nephew, Clarence Emert all of Rossville.
Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon 2:30 o’clock, conducted by the Reverend H. L. Nelson. Music was furnished by a quartette composed of Mrs. A.B. Jamieson, Mrs. Ruth Hesse, Mrs. C.E. Gresser and Mrs. Peter Navarre.
Pall bearers were, C.E. Gresser, Roy McClain, Martin Whearty, Fred McCollough, Gus Kassebaum and J.C. Bradley.
Burial was in Rossville cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kassebaum, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Harvey, Mrs. Una Jamieson, Miss Margaret Bond, Mrs. Floyd Cless and Beverly, Mrs. Charity James of Topeka, were among the many out-of-town folk in Rossville, Tuesday, for the funeral of Mrs. Morris Bond.
Mrs. John Glynn, Mrs. Barbara Bond and Mrs. Leota Zimek of St. Marys were in Rossville, Tuesday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Morris Bond.
