ST. MARYS - Mrs. Therese J. “Lizzie” Lysek, 82, St. Marys, died Saturday, Feb. 2, at a Topeka hospital.
Mrs. Lysek and her husband farmed in the Rossville-Delia area until 1970.
She was born Feb. 16, 1902, at Rossville, the daughter of Joe and Mary Stach Bravence. She lived in St. Marys since 1970.
Mrs. Lysek was a member of the United Methodist Church and Senior Citizens at St. Marys.
She was married to Valen Lysek Jan. 15, 1919, at Topeka. He died Aug. 27, 1970.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Elsie Rezac, St. Marys, and Mrs. Agnes Hafner, Lorraine Lysek, and Mrs. Josephine Koci, all of Topeka; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Marys United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Czech-Moravian Cemetery, northeast of Rossville. The family will meet with friends from 7 until 8 p.m. today at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church or Senior Citizens at St. Marys.
