FUNERAL FRIDAY
Joseph Richard Coffey, Rossville, died Monday, July 1, 1963 in a Topeka hospital. He was 70.
He was born March 8, 1893 at Asheville, N. C., and settled with his parents in Junction City in 1897.
Mr. Coffey was a farmer and road construction worker until his retirement in 1959. He had lived in Rossville since 1952.
He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Rossville, and was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Etta Gutshall, Rossville; one son, Fred, 444 Greene, Topeka, for daughters, Mrs. Mary Lou Hancock, Tamp, Fla., Mrs. Don Middaugh, Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Phyllis Stadler, and Mrs. Patricia Perry, both of Rossville; one step-daughter, Shirley Coffey, one step-son. Gene Baugher, both of Kansas City, Mo., and 13 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday a Parker Mortuary with burial in Rossville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Perry Stumbaugh, J. L. Bruce, Omer VanVleck, Fred McColough, Bill Hole, and Harley Heiland.
Relatives from out of town attending the funeral of Joseph R. Coffey were Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rockhold of Lawrence, Kansas, Mrs. Hazel Cox, Olathe, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Rousselo and Vicki and Mr. John Rousselo all of Edgerton, Shirley Coffey, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Bougher and Mrs. Helen Bada of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Don Middough, Jacksonville, Florida, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Hancock, Mrs. Belle Bledsoe, Tampa Florida, Mrs. Maud Coffey and Mrs Ruth Coffey of Topeka.
