 | Obituary- Preston, Elizabeth Mrs. Hahn's Mother Buried Here
The body of Mrs. Elizabeth Preston, mother of Mrs. Hahn, was brought here from Kansas City, Kansas, Saturday on the noon train and laid to rest at 1:30 in the Rossville cemetery.
Elizabeth Preston was born in Norwack [sic], Ohio, Dec. 24, 1855, and came to Kansas in 1872. After her marriage to Mr. M.A. Curtiss, they lived for a time near St. Mary [sic]. Two children came to their home, Mortie A. and Susan E. Curtiss. The son is now living at Ramah, Colol, and the daughter, Mrs. S.E. Hahan of this city. Mr. Curtiss died in 1879 and in 1881 she was married to Mr. H.A. Preston and they lived for a number of years at Alma, Kans. To this union five children were born, four of them dying at an early age, one son John D. Preston, residing at Kansas City, Kan.
Mrs. Preston died August 28th at her home 1967 Tromp Ave., Kansas City, Kan., at the age of 64. The funeral services were held from the Geo. Long Chapel in Kansas City and another short service at the grave.
She is survived by her husband and three children above mentioned, and six grand children, George, Albert, Clarence, Burgess and Marshall Hahn of this city; Mrs. Bertha Feldman of Lawrence.
