Mrs. Laura F. Dain, 89, Silver Lake, died Sunday, Feb. 3, at a ToŽpeka care center.
She and her husband operated a grocery store at Kiro corner east of Silver Lake from 1952 to 1962.
Mrs. Dain was born June 2, 1895, at Kirksville, Mo., the daughter of Theodore and Sarah Crowder AdŽams. She moved to Osawatomie in 1921, to Valley Falls in 1947, and Silver Lake in 1952.
She was a member of Silver Lake United Methodist Church and a forŽmer member of Order of Rebekahs and the auxiliary to Silver Lake Post No. 160 of the American Legion, all at Silver Lake.
She was married to Cecil V. Dain Oct. 5, 1920, at Hastings, Neb. He died Jan. 5, 1980. She was also preŽceded in death by two sons, Emery Albertus Dain and Cecil Theodore Dain; a granddaughter, Cheryl Jeannine Carey; and a great-grandson, Sean Michael Donnelly.
Survivors include three sons, DonŽald A. Dain and Claude Wesley Dain, both of Silver Lake, and Willis L. Dain, Topeka; three daughters, Mrs. Virginia G. Jackson, Osage City, Mrs. Nellie Alvera Spetter, Delia, and Mrs. Ruth Ellen Hippensteel, Silver Lake; three sisters, Mrs. Flora ArŽnold and Mrs. Fern Young, both of Clay Center, Neb., and Mrs. Agnes Vickers, Albion, Neb.; 25 grandchildŽren, 60 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. TuesŽday at Parker-Price Mortuary. BuriŽal will be in Prairie Home CemeŽtery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Silver Lake United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 188, Silver Lake, 66539.
