HORTON — Darwin Lucien Daugherty, 57, Horton, was found dead Sunday, Nov. 28, 1993, at his home.
Mr. Daugherty worked several years for Santa Fe Railway in Topeka, then moved to Portland, Ore., in the late 1970s where he was a janitor in public schools. He return¬ed to live in Holton a year, then in Horton the past two years where he was a volunteer at Tri-County Nursing Home.
He was born April 15, 1936, in Delia, the son of Milton Harry and Leafy May Keller Daugherty. He grew up in the Mayetta community and was graduated in 1954 from Mayetta High School.
Mr. Daugherty was a member of Horton United Methodist Church and Independent Order of Odd Fellows lodges in Topeka and Portland.
He was married to Martha Dye in 1954 in Holton. They later were divorced.
Survivors include two sons, Tony Lee Daugherty, Hutchinson, and Michael J. Daugherty, Los Angeles; a sister, Gwyn Hinman, Denison; a brother, Leon Daugherty, Mayetta; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednes¬day in Mercer Funeral Home in Hol¬ton. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Darwin Daugherty Memorial Fund to be designated at a later time by the family and left with Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, 66436.
