 | Obituary- Enochs, Lou The entire community was thrown into mourning Tuesday night by the drowning of one of our favorite boys Lou Enochs, in the Kaw river. Lou, with four other young men had gone in swimming. He was a good swimmer; but it is thought he must have taken cramps when he entered the cold current. Frantic efforts were made by the other boys to save him, but to no avail. Searchers worked constantly to recover the body, but it was not discovered until about mid-forenoon Thursday. Shellabarger took charge of the body to prepare for burial at 4 p. m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held later. Obituary will be published next week.
[Note: we searched the following two weeks’ papers, and no obituary was published.]
