 | Anniversary- Vorhies, Charles and Samantha 1 Last Friday was the 35th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Vorhies and that evening a few friends walked in and surprised them. The evening was spent in playing games and having a general good time. After refreshments of cake and ice cream were served the guests departed wishing Mr. and Mrs. Vorhies many happy returns of the day. The guests present were: Mr. and Mrs. Elton Vorhies, Rev. A.J. Crawford, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Kassebaum, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Bradley, Mr. and Mrs. John Reid, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Yocum, Mr. and Mrs. Abner Cless, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Binns, Mr. and Mrs. W.V.  | Anniversary- Vorhies, Charles and Samantha 2 Mr. and Mrs. Charley Vorhies were guests of honor at a wedding anniversary dinner, Saturday, at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Blanche Driscoll, at Silver Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Vorhies were presented a large wedding cake and friends were invited in and served to ice cream and cake. This was the 53rd wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Vorhies. |

Mr. and Mrs. Charey Vorhies will
have been married sixty-three years Friday of this week, March 30.
Living here all their lives since their marriage except for excursions to California at various times for short sojourns, Mr. and Mrs. Vorhies are enjoying fairly good health and remain active in their church and lodge circles. They will spend the day quietly at home. Mr. Vorhies still is one of the best gardeners in Rossville and always has
a well-kept lawn. Mr. and Mrs. Vorhies have two daughters, Mrs. Blanch Driscoll of Topeka and Mrs. Beulah McIntyre of the home.
Best wishes to this fine couple of Rossville citizens.

Mr. Frank H. Martin and Miss Blanche Vorhies were quietly married last Saturday afternoon at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Vorhies, Rev. H.L. Nelson officiating. Those witnessing the ceremony were: Dr. and Mrs. F.H. Martin, Miss Vera Martin of Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Vorhies, Miss Beulah Vorhies and Miss Gertrude Hook of Rossville. A plain band ring was used to seal the marriage vow. The bride was attired in a gray traveling suit, and the groom in the conventional plain black. After the ceremony refreshments consisting of ice cream, cake, coffee and fruits were served. The happy couple left amidst a shower of rice and good wishes, on the evening train for their future home in Topeka.

Rossville - Mrs. Blanche V. Driscoll, 85, died Sunday at her home.
She was born Feb. 22, 1883, at Rossville. She was a member of Potwin Presbyterian Church in Topeka.
Survivors include a son, Frank V. Martin, at home; and a sister, Mrs. Beulah V. McIntyre, Rossville.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rossville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion at Rossville. Verschelden Funeral Home at St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
Aged Rossville resident dies on Sunday
Mrs. Blanche V. Driscoll, 85, native of Rossville, died Sunday at her home.
She is survived by a son, Frank V. Martin, of the home; and a sister, Mrs. Beulah V. McIntyre, Rossville.
She was a member of the Potwin Presbyterian Church in Topeka.
Graveside services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Rossville Cemetery.
