John P. Baier, 70, Delia, died
Wednesday, June 15, 1988, at a To¬peka hospital.
Mr. Baier was a carpenter most of
his life. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 81st Air Service Group in the Pacific.
He was born Feb. 6, 1918, at Ce¬dar Rapids, Iowa, the son of John P. and Marguerite Whitaker Baier. He grew up at Elmo and lived at Leav¬enworth before he moved to Delia 15 years ago.
He was married to Emily Wilson May 8, 1971, at Oklahoma city. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Lynn Mullings, Quincy, Wash., and Margaret Ann O’Calla- ghan, Cozad, Neb.; a son, John P. Baier Jr., Rochester, Wash.; three sisters, Dorothy Stroda and Louise Bowers, both of Abilene, and Joan Jackson, St. Joseph, Mo.; a brother, j David Baier, Abilene; and seven grandchildren.
Military graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Leavenworth National Cemetery at Wadsworth. The casket will remain closed and Mr. Baier will not lie in state. Me¬morial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 1000 W. 10th, 66604, American Heart Association, 5375 W. 7th, 66606, or American Lung Association of Kan¬sas, P.O. Box 4426, 66604. Parker- Price Mortuary in Topeka is in charge of arrangements.
