 | Obituary- Franklin, Frederitk Frederitk K. Franklin, was born at Kentland, Ind., February 15, 1854, and passed way, Friday August 10, at his home at Gueda Springs, Kansas., after a short illness of three weeks following an operation, at the age of 69 years.
He came to Kansas, with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Franklin when only three years old and settled near Holton, where he lived until about 13 years old. They moved then to a farm north of Rossville where he grew to manhood.
He was married to Miss Maria James, on August 13, 1878, at Rossville. To this union was born eight children, four of whom died in infancy.
Mr. Franklin and family moved to Gueda Springs about ten years ago and have resided there on a farm until the time of his death. He was a member and trustee of the Methodist church of that place.
He leaves to mourn his death his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Lena Gentry, Winfield, Kan., three sons, Lester, of Rosedale, Okla., Bert and Fred of Gueda Springs; two brothers, Joe Franklin of Topeka, and Wm. Franklin of Emmett, Kans.; two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Howerton of Rossville, and Mrs. Mary Lasswell, of Topeka; and eleven grand-children.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock, from the Methodist church, conducted by the Rev., G. D. Albin. Interment in the Rossville cemetery.
