 | Obituary- Marney, Layden Influenza Fatal to Mrs. George Marney
Mrs. George Marney passed away Sat. at 11:30 a.m. after a few days illness with influenza. Other complications made her an easy victim to the disease. Practically the whole family was ill at the same time as were the members of the James Marney family who live together in the latter's home.
Leyden Lee Colleggen was born March 10, 1891 and was 28 years 11 months and 4 days old at the date of her death. She was united in marriage to George Marney, Nov. 27, 1907. To this union four children were born. The surviving relatives are her husband and four children, three boys Verle, George, Howard and one daughter, Velma. Her mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Rankin of Brownell, Kan., and sisters, Mrs. Fred Hunderthpfund of Silver Lake, Mrs. Wm. Lock of Brownell, Mrs. Roy Thompson, of Topeka, Misses Retta and Jessie Rankin of Brownell, Ks. The funeral was held Monday afternoon from the home, conducted by Rev. Hart. Interment made in Rossville cemetery.
