Merle F. Martin, 82, Topeka, died Wednesday, July 15, 1987, at a Tope¬ka hospital.
Mr. Martin was a shift supervisor for the City of To¬peka Water De¬partment before he retired in 1970.
He was born March 8, 1905, in Rossville, the son of Samuel F. and Ethel Pearl Hook Martin. He attend¬ed Quincy Grade Merle F' Martin School in Topeka and was graduated from Topeka High School. He spent most of his life in Topeka.
He was married to Margaret Quaney Sept. 28, 1931, in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include a daugh¬ter, Mrs. Sue Muckenthaler, Topeka; a son, William M. Martin, Cairo, Egypt; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Satur¬day at Brennan Funeral Home. Buri¬al will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Martin will lie in state from 2 until 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where a Christ the King Parish rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday.
