D., 1917, the undersigned was, by the Probate Court of Shawnee county, Kansas, duly appointed administrator of the estate of Vincent Martinek, late of Shawnee county, deceased.   		Obituary- Martinek, Vincent d. 1916 2 Vincent Martinek Sr., Dead Vincent Martinek, Sr., died last Friday morning, Aug. 4, 1916, at St. Francis hospital where he had been taken the Tuesday previous suffering from a relapse of pneumonia. Mr. Martinek had been ill nearly four weeks and at one time was well past the crisis of his malady but later grew worse and at the first favorable moment was rushed to the Topeka hospital, but the change was too late. Vincent Martinek was born in Silesia, Austria, June 24, 1868. At sixteen years of age he with his parents emigrated to the United States and located at St. Joseph, Mo. He remained there one year, and then came to this community where he has since resided. On September 15, 1890, he was married to Miss Agnes Simecka. In the death of Mr. Martinek the community has lost a useful and much esteemed citizen. He was progressive and held many responsible positions. By hard work, frugality and business foresight, he has accumulated a goodly share of this worlds goods---but he was always strictly honest. He was generous and helpful to those who were less fortunate than himself, always ready to help those in need. He was a kind husband and indulgent father and a good neighbor. Mr. Martinek leaves to mourn his death, his faithful wife, eight sons and four daughters, one brother and four sisters. His father died at his home in Oklahoma just twelve hours previous to his departure. Mr. Martinek was 48 years 1 month and 11days old at the time of his death in Francis hospital, Topeka The funeral services were held in the Catholic church at Delia, Monday August 7, Rev. Father Sullivan officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the beautiful cemetery at St. Marys and were followed by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and neighbors. ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬____________________ To the many friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted and sympathize with us in our sorrow and also for the beautiful floral offerings, we wish to extend our sincere thanks.
