Dorothy J. Matyak, 89, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, Nov. 23,2013, at her daughter’s home. She was born March 25, 1924, in Topeka, the daughter of Floyd and Josephine (Britschge) Landis. She was a 1943 graduate of Silver Lake High School. Mrs. Matyak was a member of Moose Lodge 555.
Dorothy married Frank A. Matyak on May 8, 1948, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on July 2,1992. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Matyak, Topeka; a grandson, John Jenssen and wife Heather of Topeka; and a great-grandson, Wyatt Jenssen.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Childress, and a brother, Richard Landis.
Dorothy enjoyed dancing, gardening and fishing. A private funeral will be held later. Interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery, Topeka.
