Carl Lester McConnell, 75, Topeka, died Friday, Aug. 4, 1995, at a Topeka nursing home.
Mr. McConnell worked for the Rehabilitation Center for the Blind for 30 years before he retired because of failing health.
He was born Aug. 30, 1919, at Rossville. He was reared by his grandparents, George and Minnie McConnell. He attended school in Topeka.
Mr. McConnell was a member of the Eagle Lodge and the Seaman Baptist Church.
Survivors include an aunt, Doris Kietzman, Topeka; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. McConnell was cremated. Inurnment at Memorial Park Cemetery will be private. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements. |

- Raised by his grandparents Andrew (George) and Minnie McConnell. On the 1920 census, he is listed under their family. His mother may have been Cecilia, age 19, on the 1920 census, but we cannot find any data to support that at this time. She is not listed on the same family's 1925 Kansas census, and we cannot locate her in Findagrave.com.
