SILVER LAKE - Pat "Junior” McDiffett, 49, Silver Lake, died Friday in a Topeka hospital.
He was born Jan. 29, 1926, at Dwight. He worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Topeka for 28 years and retired June, 1975.
He served with the U.S. Army paratroopers in World War II and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of United Rubber Workers Union Local No. 307.
He was married to Norma Beagel in March, 1947, at Emporia. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include a son, Robert McDiffett, 1952 Wanamaker Road; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Meade, Rossville; his mother, Mrs. Arnolla McDiffett, Dwight; five brothers, Earl McDiffett, Rossville; Arnold McDiffett, 4013 Rochester Road, Ellis McDiffett, Kansas City, Raymond McDiffett, Junction City, and Scott McDiffett, Alta Vista; two sisters, Mrs. Howard Peters and, Mrs. L. D. Evans, both of Dwight, and four grandsons.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Graveside services will be conducted by the VFW at Rossville Cemetery.
