  Obituary- McKelvey, Edward Edward Leroy McKelvey LAWRENCE — Edward Leroy McKelvey, 60, Lawrence, died Monday, Feb. 9,1998, at a Lawrence hospital. Mr. McKelvey worked in food service at the University of Kansas. He earlier had worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and for Kaw Motors. He was born May 31,1937, in Lawrence, the son of Jacob and Edith Tipton McKelvey. He was a lifelong Lawrence resident. He was married to Christine Marie Carter on June 30, 1978, in Lawrence. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Dale LeRoy McKelvey, Lawrence; a sister, Edna Mae Dirk, Corpus Christi, Texas; and three brothers, Edwin Lee McKelvey, Lawrence, William McKelvey, Modesto, Calif., and Rog¬er McKelvey, in California. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery, relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and sent in care of the mortuary.
