Wednesday evening at 6 o'clock, Mabel Lumpkins, the five year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lumpkins died after a week's illness from dysentery. Funeral services were held this afternoon in the Christian church conducted by Rev. H.L. Nelson. The interment took place in the city cemetery.
The grief stricken parents have the deepest sympathy of the entire community in their great affliction. |

Emma Mabel Lumpkins was the second child of John George Lumpkins and Minnie Mabel (Hawks). She was born in Rossville, Kansas on August 20, 1899. On October 19, 1904, at the age of 5-years-old, Emma succumbed to dysentery and died. She was buried in the Rossville Cemetery. |
