ON WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
A family get-to-gether was held Sunday, October 3, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik Sr. in honor of their 46th wedding anniversary which was October 6th.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Olejnik and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Olejnik also had wedding anniversaries on the 6th which were celebrated Sunday.
Refreshments of ice cream and cake were served to the following: Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Olejnik and Linda, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Olejnik and Robert, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Olejnik and Charlotte, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Pressgrove, Karen, Shirley and Ronald, Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik Jr., Joyce and Patricia, Mrs. Georgi Anne Davis and Richard, Mr. Rudolf Olejnik, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Koontz and Cheryl Kay. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Donly were unable to attend.

Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik, Sr. celebrated their wedding anniversary on October 9. They were married 47 years ago on October 6.
A family gathering was held at their home. A three tiered, decorated cake and home made ice cream were served. The cake was baked by two of their daughters, Mrs. Georgianne Davis and Mrs. William Koontz.
The following were present: Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik Sr., Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik Jr., Patricia and Joyce of Delia, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Pressgrove, Karen and Ronnie, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Olejnik and Bobby, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Olejnik and Linda, Rudolf and Henry Olejnik, all of Rossville, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Koontz and Cheryl, Mrs. Georgianne Davis and Richard, Miss Shirley Pressgrove and Mr. A1 Dietrich all of Topeka.
Mrs. Henry Oleinik and Charlotte of Rossville and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Donly and Deborah of St. Joseph, Mo. were unable to attend.

 | Anniversary- Olejnik, George and Rosa 3 Celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. George Olejnik Sr. celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home in Delia, Kansas, October 5, 1958. They were married October 6, 1908, at Topeka.
Mr. and Mrs. Olejnik retired from the farm in 1955 when they moved to Delia. Before their retirement, they had spent all of their married life on a farm in the Rossville vicinity.
Mrs. Olejnik was born in Moravia, Czechoslovakia, and came to the United States at the age of eleven. Mr. Olejnik was born at Rossville and lived in the community until he and Mrs. Olejnik moved to Delia, where they still reside.
They have nine children and sixteen grandchildren. The children are: George Jr. of Delia. Rudolf, Henry, William and Edward of Rossville, Mrs. Agnes Koontz, Mrs. Georgianne Davis of Topeka, Mrs. Helen Donly of St. Joseph, Mo., and Mrs. Josephine Pressgrove of Rossville.

Rudolf Olejnik, 77, Rossville, died Sunday, March 20, 1988, at the St. Marys Manor.
He was born January 2, 1911, at Rossville to George and Rosie Hejtmanek Olejnik. He lived all of his life in the Delia and Rossville communi¬ties.
Mr. Olejnik worked for many years for Kaw Dehydra¬ting, where he operated the pellet machine. He also was set-up man at Rossville Truck and Tractor. He retired 12 years ago.
He volunteered to serve during World War 2, and was discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He was in Norman¬dy and central Europe, where he worked in maintenance and on heavy tanks.
Mr. Olejnik was a member of the United Brethren Church, Jimmie Lillard Post #31 of the American Legion in Rossville, and a member of the ZCBJ Lodge #128.
Surviving him are four brothers, George and Henry of Delia, Edward of Holton, and William of Rossville; four sisters, Josephine Pressgrove, Wamego, Georgianna Davis and Agnes Wike, Topeka, and Helen Donley, St. Joseph, Mo.
He will lie in state after 9 a.m. Wednesday until service time at Verschelden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Verschelden’s, with interment to follow In the Czech-Moravan Cemetery northeast of Rossville. Honorary casket bearers are Bennie Martinek, Ben Stach, Joe Macha and Henry Smatla. Active casket bearers are Robert Olejnik, Richard Davis, Larry Smatla, Kevin Donley, Louis Martin and William Koontz. Military graveside services will be conducted by Jimmie Lillard American Legion Post 31. A memorial fund has been set up at the Rossville United Methodist Church and at Jim¬mie Lillard Post #31, Ross¬ville.

ROSSVILLE - Rudolf Olejnik, 77, Rossville, died Sunday, March 20, 1988, at a St. Marys nursing home.
Mr. Olejnik was a pellet machine operator for Kaw Dehydrating Co., at Rossville before he retired. He previously worked for Rossville Truck and Tractor Co.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, having participated in the campaigns for Normandy and Cen¬tral Europe. He was a sergeant in the Heavy Maintenance Tank Com¬pany of 503rd Ordnance Battalion.
He was born Jan. 2, 1911, north of Rossville, the son of George and Rosie Hejtmanek Olejnik, and spent his life in the Delia and Rossville areas. j
Mr. Olejnik was a member of Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion and a social member of ZCBJ Lodge No. 128, both at Ross¬ville.
Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Josephine Pressgrove, Wamego, Mrs. Georgianna Davis and Mrs. Agnes Wilke, both of Topeka, and Mrs. Helen Donley, St. Joseph, Mo.; and four brothers, George Olejnik and Henry Olejnik, both of Delia, Edward Olejnik, Holton, and Wil¬liam Olejnik, Rossville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thurs¬day in Verschelden Funeral Home at St. Marys. Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 will conduct graveside services in Czech-Moravian Cemetery northeast of Rossville. Mr. Olejnik will lie in state after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where relatives and friends will meet from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Method¬ist Church or Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion, both in Rossville.
