Marie Parr, 77, Topeka, died Friday, Sept. 2, 1994, at her home.
She was born April 9, 1917, in Lincoln, Neb., the daughter of John and Elizabeth Walter Kaufman.
Mrs. Parr was a member of First Lutheran Church where she had served on the altar guild for several years. She also had been a volunteer for Doorstep in Topeka.
She was married to William W. Parr on April 2, 1937, in Tecumseh. He died May 5, 1983. A daughter, Kay Marlene Parr, died in May 1953.
Survivors include four daughters, Janice M. Pope, Nancy L. Besta and Patricia A. Martinek, all of Topeka, and Linda Rafferty, San Antonio, Tex¬as; a son, William S. Parr, San Clemente, Calif.; two sisters, Lydia Gies, Tecumseh, and Amelia Conrad, Scotts Bluff, Neb.; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Parr will lie in state after noon Monday at Parker-Price Mortuary where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday. The casket will remain closed. Memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church, 1234 S.W. Fairlawn, Topeka, 66604.
