    James Pauley
    WAMEGO — James R. Pauley, 78, Wamego, died Monday, May 12,2003, at a Wamego hospital of complications after suffering a stroke May 1.

    He was born Aug. 22,1924, south of Fostoria in Pottawatomie County, to Ray S. and Nellie Elizabeth Graham Pauley. He attended Adams Creek School near Fostoria. He was a farmer and then worked as a machinist at Balderson Blade Inc. in Wamego from 1954 until 1984 when he retired.

    He had delivered flowers since 1988 for the Flower Mill Florist and Gift Shop in Wamego.

    He married Ruby Fay Blume on July 26,1944. in Topeka. They lived near Flush before they moved to Wamego in 1954. She survives.

    Other survivors include a son, Duane L. Pauley, Wamego; a daughter, Deanna J. Meyer, Wamego; and two grandchildren.

    Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. Burial will be in Wamego City Cemetery. Mr. Pauley will lie in state after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
