Frank Jesse Simecka, 89, St. Marys, died Thursday, June 01,2006 at the Wamego City Hospital.
He was born September 17,1916 near Delia, the son of John and Nettie Scheidegger Simecka. Frank attended Delia Schools and entered the United States Army in September 1940 and served in the 3rd Army under Patton until October 31,1945.
Frank lived in St. Marys for many years. He worked 20 years at the Farmers Union Coop in St. Marys. He was an avid gardener. Frank was a member of the St. Marys United Methodist Church
He was united in marriage to Stella Manis Winters on December 16,1949. She died December 9,1996.
He is survived by a son, Delbert Simecka, Belvue, and his children Alayna and Cameron; two step-daughters, Wanda Phillips, in Mississippi, and her children Jackie & Gary, and Patricia Meyer, in Washington, and her children Tammy and Tracy; a brother John Simecka, St. Marys; 6 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great- grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at the Valley View Cemetery in St. Marys. Frank will lie in state after 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 5, 2006 at Piper Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Piper Funeral Home, St. Marys, is in charge of arrangements.

Frank Jesse Simecka, 89, St. Marys, died Thursday, June 1, 2006 at the Wamego City Hospital.
He was born Sept. 17, 1916 near Delia, the son of John and Nettie Scheidegger Simecka.
Frank attended Delia Schools and entered the United States Army in September 1940 and served in the 3rd Army under Patton until Oct. 31,1945.
