Lydia Scott, daughter of Mrs. Rosie Penaz of Delia, and the late Mr. Joseph Penaz, and August L. Stach, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stach, Sr., of Rossville were united in marriage at 4:00 p.m., November 18, in the chapel of the First Presbyterian Church Manhattan, Kansas.
In a double ring ceremony, the couple exchanged vows before Rev. Samuel George.
Mrs. Stach has been employed for the past twelve years by the Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company in Manhattan. Mr. Stach is a retired farmer.After a wedding trip to Missouri, the couple is at home at Rossville, Kansas.

August L. Stach, 89, Rossville, died Wednesday, June 7, 1989, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Stach was a farmer and stockman.
He was born Sept. 16, 1899, northŽeast of Rossville, the son of Frank and Frances Smatla Stach. He spent his life in the Rossville community.
Mr. Stach was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Delia, a 50-year member of the ZCBJ Lodge No. 128 and a 40-year member of JimŽmie Lillard American Legion Post No. 31, both in Rossville, and a member of the Good Neighbors OrŽganization.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Stach was married to Lydia Penaz Scott Nov. 18, 1964, in ManŽhattan. She survives.
Also surviving are two brothers, Frank Stach and Bennie Stach, both of Rossville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. SaturŽday at the Presbyterian Church in Delia. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Jimmie Lillard American Legion Post No. 31 at the Czech-Moravian Cemetery northeast of Rossville.
Mr. Stach will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. today.

Brother August L. Stach was born September 16, 1899 to Frank and Frances Smatla Stach and died June 7, 1989 at Veterans HospiŽtal in Topeka. Funeral services were held at Delia Presbyterian Church, June 9, with interment at Czech Moravan Cemetery.
August married Lydia Penaz Scott, November 18, 1964. He was a farmer and served in the army in World War 2 and was a 50-year member of our lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Lydia; two brothers, Frank Stach and Bernie Stach, both of Rossville and nieces and nephews.
On behalf of Lodge No. 128 I extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.

Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Presbyterian Church in Delia for August L. Stach, 89, Rossville. He died Wednesday, June 7, 1989, at a Topeka hospital.
Military graveside services were conducted by Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion in Czech-Moravan Cemetery northeast of Rossville.
Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys, was in charge of arrangeŽments.
Memorial contributions may be made to Delia Presbyterian Church or Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion in Rossville.

Delicious home made ice cream and cake was served. A nice time was had by everyone. |
