Crow and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Stitt were enjoying a dinner out in observance of their wedding anniversaries when Mr. and Mrs. Ammon Dietrich of Silver Lake arrived for an evening out in celebration of their anniversary. Daisy and Lorenzo Crow celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary, Iva and Dave Stitt celebrated their 37th, and the Dietrichs were remembering their 51st. |

Stitts to have open house
Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Stitt will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday, February 25, with open house from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Community Center. No invitations will be sent, but relatives and friends are invited to call.
Mr. and Mrs. Stitt were married at Rev. Bentley’s home south of Willard February 27, 1922. All their married life has been spent in the Willard-Rossville community. They have one daughter, Mrs. Donna Whiteman of Silver Lake, and one granddaughter. |

Mr. and Mrs. Dave Stitt will celebrate their Golden Wedding anniversary on Sunday, Feb. 27, at a reception in their home, 521 Spruce Street, Rossville.
Relatives and friends are invited to call between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m.
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Stitt were married in Willard and have spent all of their married life in the Willard and Rossville
communities.
They are the parents of one daughter, Mrs. T. R. Whiteman of Silver Lake, and have a granddaughter, Mrs. Terry
Blush, also of Silver Lake.
The reception will be given by Mrs. Whiteman, Mrs. Blush and families, and friends.
The couple asks that no gifts be presented.

David R. Stitt, 78, Rossville, died Tuesday in a Topeka hospital where he was admitted Jan. 7. He had a lung ailment.
He formerly was a mayor of Willard in Shawnee County several years and formerly served on the Rossville Rural High School board 21 years.
He was born June 24, 1897, at Valencia and spent most of his life in the Valencia, Willard, and Rossville communities.
Mr. Stitt operated a general store at Willard 29 years and operated a general store in the 1200 block of Gage in Topeka three years. He served 12 years as supervisor of mails for the State Motor Vehicle Department.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Rossville. He was a 50-year member of Hesperian Lodge No. 111, AF&AM, at Rossville and was a member and past patron of Amaryllis Chapter No. 231, Order of Eastern Star at Rossville.
He was a member of Scottish Rite bodies and Arab Shrine in Topeka and was a past royal patron of Capitol Court No. 5, Order of Amaranth, in Topeka. He was a trustee of Dover Township eight years.
He was married to Iva B. Kidd Feb. 27, 1922, at Willard. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Donna Whiteman, Silver Lake; a sister, Mrs. Martha Lewis, Rossville and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Parker Mortuary Hesperian Lodge No. 111, AF&AM, will conduct graveside services at Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Stitt will lie in state at the mortuary where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church at Rossville.
