The children of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sumner, Mayetta, will honor their parents upon the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary Sunday, Mar. 29, with a reception at the Delia Grade School.
Friends and relatives are asked to call between three and five o’clock p.m. The couple asks that no gifts be presented.
There are nine living children: Mrs. Chester Lutz, Mayetta; John Sumner, Cheyenne, Wyo.; Ted Sumner, Hereford, Tex.; Ray Sumner, Tacoma, Wash.; Everett Sumner, and Bob Sumner, Delia; Dale Sumner, and Don Sumner, Topeka; Bill Sumner, of Manhattan.
A son, Cleve Sumner, died in 1963.
Mr. and Mrs. Sumner were married Apr. 4, 1910, in Topeka. They have 31 grandchildren, and 36 great-grandchildren.

Raymond was born Oct. 25, 1918, in Delia, and went to be with Jesus on June 26, 2009.
Ray died after a fight with cancer. He was raised on a farm in Kansas with eight brothers and one sister.
He married Anna Elizabeth Houck on June 22, 1942, in San Diego, Calif. They had two daughters, Jacquelyn and Sharon. They had six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Additional survivors include three brothers: Bob, of St. Marys, and Don and Bill of Topeka; and one sister, Ethel Lutz, Topeka.
He served in the Army for 24 years, Civil Service for 15 years and was a park aide for eight years. He and Anna traveled in their RV for 30 years. He was a long time member and an elder at Lakewood Presbyterian Church. He volunteered at the Lakewood Veterans Golf Course.
A memorial celebration of Ray’s life was held at Lakewood Presbyterian Church, Lakewood, Wash., July 2.
