Mr. Marion Davis announce the marriage of his daughter, Helen June to Mr. Samuel Morris Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig Thompson, of Delia.
The marriage was solemnized at the home of Reverend H.L. Nelson Sunday afternoon, March 4th.
The bride was attired in blue with brown accessories. The only attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Davis.
Mrs. Thompson is a graduate of Rossville High School and Mr. Thompson is graduated from the Delia High School. The couple will make their home on a farm two miles southwest of Delia. |

Samuel "Shorty” and Helen Thompson, Rossville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Rossville American Legion. Friends and relatives are invited. A dance will follow from 8 p.m. to midnight.
The reception will be hosted by the couple’s sons and their wives, Stanley and Suzy Thompson, Rossville, and Steven and Paula Thompson, Halstead, and the couple’s four grandchildren.
Samuel Thompson and Helen Davis were married March 4, 1945, in Topeka.
Mr. Thompson retired from Beatrice Foods in Topeka after 30 years of service. Mrs. Thompson retired as secretary of Rossville High School after 20 years of service.
The couple request no gifts.

Thompsons Celebrate 60th Anniversary
Samuel “Shorty” and Helen Davis Thompson will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with their family. Sam and Helen were married in Topeka March 4, 1945.
Their children and spouses are Stan and Suzy Thompson, Rossville; and Steve and Paula Thompson, Ingalls. Their four grandchildren are Wesley, Krystle, Michael, and Abby.
Sam retired from Beatrice Foods in 1980 after 30 years of service. Helen retired as secretary from Rossville High School after 20 years.

St. Marys- Helen June Thompson, 81, died Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday July 3, 2007 at the Presbyterian Church in Rossville. Burial will be in the Delia Cemetery, Delia. Mrs. Thompson will lie in state after 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 2,2007 at Piper Funeral Chapel in S.t Marys where family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 P.M.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville Presbyterian Church and sent in care of Piper Funeral Chapel 419 Main, St.Marys, Kansas 66533.

Helen June Thompson
Helen June Thompson, 81, Rossville, died Saturday, June 30, 2007, at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
She was born June 7, 1926, at Topeka, the daughter of Marion and Anna Josephine Wells Davis. She grew up in the Rossville community attended Rossville Grade School and graduated from Rossville High School in 1944. She had lived in Topeka from 1950 until moving to Rossville in 1960.
Mrs. Thompson was a secretary for the Rossville High School for 20 years retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church.
On March 4, 1945, she was united in marriage to Samuel M. “Shorty” Thompson at Topeka. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Stanley E. (Suzy) Thompson, Rossville and Steven M. (Paula) Thompson, Ingalls; a brother, James Davis, St. Marys: a sister, Linda Korcal, Bullhead City, Ariz.; and four grandchildren, Wes, Krystle, Michael and Abby.
Funeral services were Tuesday, July 3, at the Rossville Presbyterian Church. Interment was in the Delia Cemetery.
