Mrs. Gladys A. Thorpe; 79, Topeka, died Friday, Oct. 9, 1987, at her home.
She was born Aug. 14, 1908, at Scranton, the daughter of Albert E. and Amanda E. Gilbert Sisco. She lived most of her life in Topeka.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Russell E. Hollenbeck and Herbert W. Thorpe.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Norma Cook and Mrs. Bonita Artzer, both of Topeka, Mrs. Rowena M. Gannon, Rossville, and Mrs. Marilyn X Pitts, Cowarts, Ala.; three sons, Laverne E. Hollenbeck and Dwayne A. Hollenbeck, both of Topeka, and Eldren D. Hollenbeck, Palm Springs, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Gilberta Woodyard, O'Sage City; two brothers, Marion Sisco, Norman, Okla., and Delmas Sisco, Topeka; 19 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Thorpe will lie in state from 2 p.m. today until 9 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Topeka Hospice Inc., 824 Washburn, Topeka, 66606.
