HAVENSVILLE -- Wayne C. Winfough, 78, of Havensville, died Friday, September 8, 2006 at his home.
He was born September 6,1928 at Logan, Oklahoma, the son of Chris H. and Cora Chappell Winfough.
Wayne was a farmer and rancher. He also drove a school bus for the Havensville and Onaga schools for twenty-eight years.
He was a member of Havensville Christian Church and the Havensville Lions Club. He coached high school girls summer softball and was active with the Havensville Independence Day Celebration, where he enjoyed giving rides in the "Wayne’s Train" that he built. He loved to go fishing, and camping, especially in the Colorado mountains.
He married Vinita Eyer July 21, 1948 at the Mountain View Baptist Church in Oklahoma. She survives.
Wayne was preceded in death by three brothers, Otis Winfough, Chester Winfough, and Calvin Winfough, who died in infancy.
Other survivors include three daughters, Kathy Holliday and husband Felix, Smithville, MO, Donna McDonnell and husband Dennis, and Jo Boswell and husband Kenny, all of Havensville; one sister, Cornelia Brian, Rossville; eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Havensville Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Havensville Cemetery. Wayne will lie in state after noon Sunday at the Tessendorf-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga where family and friends will meet from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday.
