Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Mitchell were honored with a surprise dinner party Sunday, April 30, to celebrate their 41st wedding anniversary. The picnic-style dinner was in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Farley, Rossville.

Corinne Cole Mitchell
ROSSVILLE — Corinne Cole Mitchell,
80, Rossville, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998, at her home.
Mrs. Mitchell and her husband farmed east of Delia. She also worked 25 years at Josten's American Yearbook. She also worked the wheat harvest beginning in Texas with her husband and son for 15 years, and she worked three years in a lemon packing plant in California in the late 1930s.
She was born Dec. 3,1917, at Circleville, the daughter of Tim and Eva Stauffer Cole. She was reared at Circleville and she had lived in Delia and Rossville communities for many years.
Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church.
She married Ervin Mitchell in 1937. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Jim Mitchell, Soldier; two daughters, Shirley Ann Mitchell, Rossville, and Susan Grinnell, St. Louis Park, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Rossville United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Mitchell will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at the Piper Funeral Chapel in Rossville where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville United Methodist Church and sent in care of the funeral chapel.

Corinne C. Mitchell, 80, Rossville, died Monday, September 28, 1998, at her home.
She was born December 3, 1917, in Circleville, the daughter of Tim and Eva Stauffer Cole.
She lived in Delia and Rossville for many years.
She grew up in the Circleville community, and was graduated from Circleville High School in 1933. She moved to Oxnard, Calif. in 1936 and worked in a lemon packing plant for three years. She and her husband moved back to Kansas east of Delia and farmed. She worked for 25 years at Josten's American Yearbook in Topeka. For 15 years, she and her husband and son, Jim, and his family worked on wheat harvest in Texas. She was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church.
She was married to Ervin
Mitchell in 1937. He survives.
Other survivors include one son, Jim Mitchell, Soldier; two daughters, Shirley Ann Mitchell, Rossville, and Susan Grinnell, St. Paul, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Cole Morris, and two brothers, Wayne Burton Cole and Robert Cole.
Her service was at 10 a.m. Thursday at Rossville United Methodist Church. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery. Family visitation was Wednesday at Piper Funeral Chapel, Rossville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville United Methodist Church and sent in care of the funeral chapel.
