April 28 with an open house in the home of their daughter. Mrs. John Besler. 344 SE Croco Road. Friends and relatives are invited to call from 2 to 4 p.m. The couple asks that no gifts be presented. Hosts will be their children. Mr. and Mrs. Besler; Mr. and Mrs. James Simon, North Bend, Neb.; and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Simecka.
  		Anniversary- Simecka, Leo and Bridget 2 Mr. and Mrs. Simecka Mr. and Mrs. Leo Simecka will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday with an anniversary mass at 5 p.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by a reception and lunch in the church and an anniversary dance at 9 p.m. in the Knights of Columbus Hall, 39th & Burlingame. Hosts will be their children: John and Julie Kesler, Topeka; Jim and Jean Simon, Louisville, Neb.; and Jerry and Marcia Simecka. The couple has 14 grandchildren. Leo Gerald Simecka and Bridget Mary Kennedy were married April 26, 1934, in Emmett. He retired from the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. [From 26 May 1984]

A daughter, Lillian Schwerdt, is deceased. They have 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Leo Simecka and Bridget Kennedy were married April 26, 1934, at Holy Cross Church in Emmett. Mr. Simecka retired from Santa Fe Railway in 1972.

  Obituary- Simecka, Bridget Bridget M. Simecka Bridget M. Simecka, 87, Topeka, died Sunday, May 10,1998, at a local care center. She was born Aug. 15,1910, in Emmett, to Chris and Julia Reilly Kennedy. She was graduated from Emmett High School. She lived in Delia before she moved to Topeka in 1942. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Altar Society at the church, Ladies of Columbus, St. Francis Hospital auxiliary, and Daughters of Isabella Little Flower Circle No. 503. She was married to Leo Simecka April 26, 1934. He survives. A daughter, Lillian Schwerdt, and three grandchildren, Michael Schwerdt, Anne Schwerdt and Thomas Schwerdt, died July 4, 1970. Survivors include a son, Jerry L. Simecka, Topeka; two daughters, Julie Besler, Tope¬ka, and Jean Simon Turgeon, Louisville, Neb.; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be at 4 p.m. today in Mount Calvary Cemetery in St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 312 Freeman, 66616. Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
