Obituary- O'Bennick, George
George Leroy O’Bennick
George Leroy O’Bennick, 79, Topeka, died Saturday, Nov. 15, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. O’Bennick was a construction laborer.
He was born Nov. 23, 1906, near Delia, the son of Charley and Nora Williams O’Bennick. He lived most of his life in the Delia community.
Mr. O’Bennick was a member of the Prairie Band of the Potawatomi Tribe.
He was married to Mary Vallee. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include three sons, Richard V. O’Bennick and Justin A. O’Bennick, both in Montana, and Leroy O’Bennick, Hot Springs, Mont.; a daughter, Mrs. Georgia Perry, Topeka; a brother, Isaac O’Bennick, Delia; and several grandchildren.
Drum services will be Wednesday evening at the Indian Dance Ground Building in Delia. Burial will be in O’Bennick Cemetery near Delia. Mercer Funeral Home at Holton is in charge of arrangements.
